Toasty Warm and Dressy!

It was 21 degrees with a wind chill of about 6 when I wore this for the first time. Everything this coat covered with that fur collar up to protect my neck stayed toasty warm. The jacket comes to my waist covering my belly just above the belt to my jeans, so it's a little shorter than most jackets today, but the sleeves are perfect and I feel like I have room to stretch a little. Those front flap pockets are not generous but adequate enough for one pocket to hold my winter work gloves and the slash pockets are just big enough to cram my hands closed into a fist inside. So the pockets seem kinda small and tight but leather does loosen up over time so I remain hopeful. I did notice that my hands stayed toasty warm inside those pockets and that's a plus!

The zipper works efficiently so far and that flap behind the zipper is a nice touch. Another thing I noticed about this coat is the leather doesn't stink. Most new leather items have this funky odor but this coat does not. I remember our navigator on my ship had a coat like this one back in the day and I was highly covetous of his then. Mine is close enough in appearance to satisfy me. I like it. It's much heavier than my down coat that is just as warm, but it looks much nicer. If you need a warm coat this is the ticket.

Wow, for the price jacket I can't believe how much I like this coat. It came in a very box but when I unfolded it it puffed up and it's very very comfortable. The fur collar is great and it's super warm. I'll probably order 1 or 2 more just to have on standby if I ever wear this one out.

The leather is soft and reliable but still feels pretty tough. Well lined for the cold weather. Large front inside pocket on the left. Outside pockets are a little awkward to get your hands into but are deep enough that they can rest there comfortably. No harsh 'cheap leather' smell. I think I'll get a lot of wear out of this item. Very pleased with it.

The quality of the leather is much thicker than expected. Usually modern leather wear doesn't even come close to the originals of years past. Not the case with this jacket. The thing is a beast. Made of top quality leather and the stitching is impeccable. If you are on the fence on this, just go ahead and buy it. I just received this today, a replacement for a well-worn exact copy that may now be 10 years old. The original had held up well, just had 10 years of wear. Frankly, I am not sure what to do with the old one. I was long overdue for a new nice cold-weather jacket and a classic Navy bomber was what I wanted. Several reviewers had stated that this was quite similar to an authentic G-1, and seeing what the authentic ones cost by comparison (out of my price range), I ordered this one.It arrived very quickly; ordered on Friday, arrived on Monday. It's very well-made, the leather is quite soft, it's very warm, and it fits great. I'm about an even 6 feet tall, so I ordered a large-tall and I'm glad I did; with a regular large, the sleeves may have been a bit shorter than I would like. Fits like it should through the chest & shoulders; based on the size chart, I would say the sizes run pretty true.Some other reviewers have mentioned the side pockets being too far around the sides. I do see their point though personally this does not bother me, though the pockets could be a little deeper.Overall, it's a beautiful jacket for the price, and exactly what I wanted.

Great Jacket, but as others pointed out, the side pockets are too much of a pain to easily get your hands into. I can't believe that they could not move the pockets more towards the zipper to make easier access! Come on, Landing Leathers!!! I bought a size Large, but it feels too tight for getting a sweater on underneath. I could not find X -Large, but at 5'10" - 180 lb., it just fits, a sweater underneath is a no go, so it is going back. Awesome Jacket otherwise, for the price, you can't beat it.
